Brake & Suspension Repair

For some reason, people still ask me if we work on brakes or if they have to go to Les Schwab. We fix brakes and we do it better than anybody in town! We have been replacing brakes on cars for three decades and we have learned a thing or two. We have learned that in Ashland and surrounding communities people like to go UP into the mountains for camping, fishing, or just beating the valley heat. Of course at the end of the day, you have to come back DOWN and that’s where the brakes get tested. We have learned that if the brake rotors don’t get replaced with the pads then they will warp resulting in a shaking steering wheel when braking. If the pads are not replaced with high quality parts then they will make noise and wear unevenly causing the need for early replacement. We know that the calipers don’t always need to be replaced, but they do need to be cleaned and lubricated to ensure they are going to perform as they should for the next 40,000 to 60,000 miles. If all these things are done, then the brakes will be smooth, quiet, and give you the peace of mind we all want in our brakes.

Suspension components are so important to the safety and comfort of a car. If your shocks or struts are bad, the tires will wear poorly and you will not have as much control of the car as you might need in an emergency. The shocks/struts keep the tires firmly planted on the pavement as you accelerate, turn, brake, and cruise. If a tire loses contact with the road as you are going around a corner that could be a dangerous situation, lets make sure that doesn’t happen. The suspension components include parts like Ball Joints, Control Arm bushings, and the Sway Bar. An alignment is often recommended after replacing suspension parts to ensure that the tires are all pointing in the right direction. Even half a degree can cause bad tire wear or a pull when going strait.
